Three months after its official launch on July 14, 2026, the Certificate of Practitioner in Pharmacovigilance & Management of Adverse Events, co-designed by ARC Academy and the Beninese Agency for Medicines (ABMED), far exceeds its initial objectives. A success that validates a new model of continental capacity building.

A program that exceeds its promises

When Dr. Yossounon CHABI, Director General of ABMED, and the teams from ARC Academy launched the first cohort of the Certificate of Practitioner in Pharmacovigilance in mid-July 2026, the 30-day goals were deliberately ambitious: 200 enrolled and 100 certified. Three months later, these goals have not only been met but exceeded.

The results as of October 14, 2026

218
learners enrolled
114
certified professionals
52 %
certification rate
95 %
average exam score

A certification rate 4 times higher than the industry average

At a time when online training struggles to exceed a 10-15% completion rate (Harvard Business Review, 2024), this result is particularly remarkable. 114 healthcare professionals received their official PDF certificate signed by Dr. Yossounon CHABI, incorporating the logos of the Ministry of Health of Benin and ABMED.

The average score obtained in the exams — 95 % — demonstrates a true mastery of the subject, well beyond the validation threshold set at 80%. These figures attest to the rigor of the program: 4 modules (SNVPS, Notification, Notification Sheet, Analysis and Issues) followed by a final exam of 25 questions with 3 attempts allowed.

The strength of an institutional model

The secret to success? An unprecedented co-design model between ARC Academy and the national regulatory authority. ABMED has validated the entirety of the educational content and officially signs each certificate, giving it true institutional value. For Beninese healthcare professionals, obtaining the ARC × ABMED certificate means receiving recognition of their competence by the regulator.

This model is reinforced by a comprehensive support system: orientation chatbot on the platform, direct WhatsApp support with response times of less than 30 minutes on weekdays, personalized follow-ups for learners in difficulty, and automatic generation of the PDF certificate in less than 30 seconds upon exam validation.

An opening beyond Benin's borders

A strong sign of the program's reach: by the end of September 2026, two professionals from Djibouti have obtained their certification with a score of 100%. Neima Zeid Ahmed and ABDI MAHAMOUD EGUEH are the first certified outside of Benin, without ARC Academy having conducted any specific marketing action in East Africa.

A signal that confirms the pan-African scope of the model and opens the way for replicable partnerships with drug regulators from other countries on the continent — Niger, Burkina Faso, Togo, Côte d'Ivoire, but also beyond West Africa.

How to join the program

Promotion 1 of the Certificate in Pharmacovigilance & Management of Adverse Events is open for registration until the end of November 2026. The training is 100% free, 100% online, to be followed at your own pace. Expect about 5 hours of actual work spread over one to two weeks depending on your availability.
